Melisal® forte

syrup, OTC drug

The syrup of Melisal® forte is a medical product containing extract from: melissa leaf, hawthorn inflorescence and angelica root. Its efficiency and safety is based exclusively on long term use and experience.

Indications for application
Melisal® forte is traditionally applied in states of nervous tension.

How to apply Melisal® forte

Administer the syrup orally.
Adults and children over 12 years of age -1 table spoon (15 ml) 2-3 times a day.
The syrup might be administered to children younger than 12 years exclusively after consultation with a pediatrician.

Consult a physician, if you think that effects of Melisal® forte are too strong or too weak.

In case of taking higher than recommended dose of Melisal® forte
So far, no overdose symptoms have been noted during application of the syrup of Melisal® forte.

In case of skipping the dose
Do not apply a double dose in order to supplement the omitted one.

Before you apply the syrup of Melisal® forte

It is not recommended to apply the syrup in case of hypersensitivity to any of the preparation components.

Exercise special care while administering Melisal® forte
1 table spoon of the syrup contains about 12.0 g of saccharose, which should be considered in case of diabetic patients. Patients with diagnosed intolerance of certain sugars should consult a physician before taking the drug.

The drug contains small amounts of alcohol (ethanol), less than 100 mg per dose.

Streptofuranoses contained by the preparation make skin sensitive to light. It is absolutely necessary to avoid exposition to UV radiation (e.g. sunlight) while taking the drug.

Application of Melisal® forte in children
Because of lack of well controlled clinical trials of the preparation in children, the syrup is intended for adults and children over 12 years of age. Younger children can be administered the drug only following consultation with a pediatrician.

Pregnancy and breast feeding
No controlled clinical trials in pregnant and breast feeding women have been conducted.
It is necessary to consult a physician before applying the preparation.

Driving of vehicles and operation of moving mechanisms
A single dose (1 table spoon, that is about 15 ml) of the syrup contains not more than 78 mg of ethanol. So far, it hasn’t been confirmed that the drug, taken according to the recommended dosage, could cause impairment of psychophysical competence, the ability to drive vehicles and operate moving mechanical mechanisms.

Because of the attributed sedative effects, it is not recommended to drive vehicles and operate moving mechanisms directly after taking the drug.

Use of other drugs
It is necessary to inform a physician about all the recently taken drugs, even those sold without prescription.

Interactions with other medical products and other interactions
So far, no interactions of Melisal® forte with other drugs have been found.

Possible undesired effects

So far, no undesired effects have been found. Inform your doctor in case of undesired effects.

Storage of Melisal® forte

Store at the temperature not exceeding 25° C, out of reach and sight of children.

Composition

100 g of the syrup contain:

Active substance:
Fluid complex extract (1:1) from: melissa leaf (Melissae folio), hawthorn inflorescence (Crataegi inflorescentia) and angelica root (Archangelicae radice) (77/15/8) –   10.0 g

Auxiliary substances:
Currant concentrate, Javanese citronella oil, saccharose, purified water.

Syrup contains up to 0.4% of ethanol.

Unit packaging contains 125 g of the preparation.
