Rubus idaeus L.
Mentions about raspberries appeared in sources as early as around 300 BC. The first crops of raspberries are known from the monastery gardens. Raspberries owe their popularity to their taste, but their valuable nutritional values should not be overlooked. They are rich in fiber, polyphenols, vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, and C, carotenoids, tocopherols, calcium, magnesium, copper, potassium, zinc, iron, and selenium.
Interestingly, Poland is one of the leading producers of raspberry in Europe and in the world.
