- It comes from the Solanaceae family of plants.

- Main active ingredients of leaves and herb are tropane alkaloids (atropine, hyoscyamine), coumarins (scopolamine and scopoletin) and flawonoids. Belladonna root contains tropane alkaloids and coumarins.
