Cranberry

(Vaccinium macrocarpon)

Cranberry is a shrub of the heather family (Ericaceae), which comes in two varieties: small cranberry and Cranberry.   It grows in temperate climates and is commonly cultivated in Central Europe.  It is characterized by pale pink flowers and dark red, fleshy fruit.  Active compounds, which are present in the plant, are antioxidants, fiber, tannic acid and vitamins C, A, P, B1 and B2.
