Marigold is a native plant of Mediterranean, but has always been acclimated to Poland. Grown frequent and favoured, marigold often runs wild. Home gardens without marigold, these dark yellow or orange flowers, are hard to point.
Medicine utilizes its flowers, only those ligulars. Cultivars of dark orange flowers are highly valued.
Marigold flowers and formulations based on them are used externally as antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and antiprotozoal agents. They are also known to accelerate wound healing (granulation and epidermal formation). Marigold flower can be also administered internally in order to stimulate secretion, reduce spasms, bind toxic endogenous compounds and increase overall strength of the body.
Pharmacists of Herbapol Wrocław put marigold in Azucalen fluid.
