Raphacholin® forte
coated tablets, OTC drugRaphacholin® Forte is a drug containing composition of dehydrocholic acid with addition of Spanish radish extract, increasing volume of the secreted bile (cholepoietic effects) and accelerating its transport to duodenum. The increased amount of bile stimulates large intestine function and demonstrates osmotic action, resulting in mildly laxative effects of the product.
Indications for application
The drug is applied in case of insufficient bile secretion by liver and indigestion demonstrated by flatulence, stomach aches, belching, nausea, constipation and as a mild laxative agent.
How to apply Raphacholin® Forte
In case indigestion: adults – orally 1 tablet after meal; if necessary it is possible to increase the dose to 3 tablets a day.
In case of constipation: adults – 2 tablets in a single dose.
Laxative effect is expected maximally after about 6 hours.
In case of taking higher than recommended dose of Raphacholin® Forte
In case of high overdose, several times exceeding the recommended doses, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may occur.
In case of skipping the dose of Raphacholin® Forte
Do not apply a double dose in order to supplement the omitted one.
Before you apply Raphacholin® Forte
The following constitute contraindications for the drug application: acute and chronic liver diseases, acute inflammatory states within the alimentary tract, occlusion of bile ducts and the alimentary tract. Hypersensitivity to any of the preparation components.
Observe special care while applying the drug of Raphacholin® Forte
In case of cholecystolithiasis, apply the drug exclusively after consultation with a physician. In case of constipations, do not apply for longer than 7 days without consultation with a physician.
Do not exceed the dose of 6 tablets (which corresponds to 1.5 g of dehydrocholic acid) a day.
Application of Raphacholin® Forte in children
Do not apply the drug in children.
Application of the drug during pregnancy and breast feeding
Do not apply the drug during pregnancy and breast feeding.
Driving of vehicles and operation of moving mechanisms
No influence of Raphacholin® Forte on the ability to drive vehicles and operate moving mechanisms has been fund.
Use of other drugs
So far, no interactions with other drugs have been described.
It is necessary to inform a physician about all the recently taken drugs, even those sold without prescription.
Possible undesired effects
The following may occur: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and other complaints concerning alimentary tract.
Discontinue application of the drug in case of undesired effects. If they do not withdraw, it is necessary to report to a physician.
Other undesired effects may appear in some individuals during application of the drug. In case of other undesired effects, not mentioned here, it is necessary to inform a physician about them.
Storage of Raphacholin® Forte
Store at the temperature not exceeding 25°C.
Store out of reach and sight of children.
Do not use the drug after expiry date stated on the package.
