Raphacholin® C
dragée tablets, OTC drugRaphacholin C® is a traditional medical product, whose efficiency in the mentioned indications is based exclusively on long term application and experience. Raphacholin C® contains dry Spanish radish extract and medicinal carbon (1:1), thick extract of artichoke herb, dehydrocholic acid and peppermint oil.
It is a cholagogic and cholepoietic drug (directly influencing liver and stimulating bile secretion).
Regular application of the preparation stimulates biliary secretion, which protects liver parenchyma, accelerates elimination of harmful substances with bile and intensifies intestinal peristalsis.
Indications for application:
Raphacholin C® is traditionally applied in case of dyspepsia, digestive disorders related to liver dysfunction (flatulence, belching, nausea, constipations), disorders of gall bladder contractile activity.
How to apply Raphacholin C®
Apply the drug orally.
Adults – in case of dyspepsia 1 to 3 tablets in a single dose, in other digestive disorders usually 1 to 2 tablets 3 times a day about 30 minutes after meal. In case of constipations 2 tablets in the morning and in the evening about ½ hours before meal.
Children over 10 years of age – 1 tablet 3 times a day following meal, after physician’s consultation.
In case of taking higher than recommended dose of Raphacholin C®
In case of high overdose, exceeding many times the recommended dose (taking of several dozen of dragée tablets at one time), sporadic vomiting, diarrhea, dyselectrolitemia, headaches, flush, breathing disorders, cardiac disorders, arrhythmia, muscular cramps, exhaustion, weakness and nausea may appear.
Before you apply Raphacholin C®
Do not use the drug in case of hypersensitivity to any of its components, serious liver diseases, bile ducts obstruction and ileus, acute and chronic inflammatory states of stomach and intestines. In case of cholelithiasis, apply the drug only after consultation with a physician.
Application of Raphacholin C® in children
The drug can be admninistered to children over 10 years of age after physician’s consultation; administer 1 dragée tablet 3 times a day, following meal.
Pregnancy
The drug safety in case of pregnant women has not been tested and for this reason it is not recommended to independently apply the preparation during this period.
Breast feeding
The drug safety in case of breast feeding women has not been tested. Some components of the preparation penetrate into mother’s milk and for this reason it is not recommended to independently apply the preparation during this period.
Driving of vehicles and operation of moving mechanisms
No negative influence of the drug of Raphacholin C® on the ability to drive vehicles has been found.
Important information on some components of the drug
In case of previously confirmed intolerance of some sugars, patient should consult a physician before taking the drug.
Application of other drugs
So far, no significant interactions with other drugs have been described. In large doses combined with hypotensive and diuretic drugs, Raphacholin C® may potentially cause hypokaliemia.
Possible undesired effects
As every drug, Raphacholin C® may cause undesired effects. These include sporadic loose stools, biliary colic and allergic reactions to the drug components. Discontinue application if any of the above mentioned symptoms appear.
In case of other undesired effects, not mentioned here, inform your doctor about them.
Storage of Raphacholin C®
Store the drug out of reach and sight of children.
Do not use the drug after expiry date stated on the package.
Raphacholin C® should be stored at the temperature not exceeding 25°C.

Active substances:
Raphani sativi nigri radicis extractum siccum cum carbo medicinalis
(dry extract of Spanish radish with medicinal carbon) (1:1) – 150 mg
( DER 18:1, extractant: ethanol 85 % V/V )
Cynarae herbae extractum spissum (thick extract of artichoke herb) – 47 mg
(DER 3:1, extractant: ethanol 50 % V/V )
Acidum dehydrocholicum (dehydrocholic acid) – 40 mg
Menthae piperitae oleum (peppermint oil) – 15 mg
Auxiliary substances:
potato starch, saccharose, gelatin, anhydrous silica gel,
magnesium stearate, talc, Arabic gum, calcium hydrogenphosphate, medicinal carbon
Packaging: 30 dragée tablets.
