Pyrosal®

syrup, OTC drug

The syrup of Pyrosal® is a preparation containing extract from: willow bark, elder flower, linden inflorescence and coltsfoot leaf.

Indications for application
Traditionally used as an supportive agent in subfebrile states during inflammatory states, mainly of the upper airways.
The product is intended for traditional application in case of the above mentioned indications and its efficiency is based exclusively on long period of application and experience.

How to apply PYROSAL®

Administer the drug orally.
Children from 3 to 4 years of age, after consultation with a physician – 1 tea spoon (1 tea spoon – 5 ml of the syrup) 4 times a day. The syrup might be diluted in a small amount of boiled water.
Children from 4 up to12 years of age – 1 table spoon (1 table spoon – 15 ml of the syrup) 3 times a day.
Children over 12 years of age and adults – 2 table spoons 3 times a day.

Consult a physician, if you think that effects of the drug are too strong or too weak.

In case of taking higher than recommended dose of Pyrosal®
No case of Pyrosal® overdose has been reported.

Before you apply PYROSAL®

Do not apply Pyrosal ® in case of allergy to any of the preparation components.

Observe special care while administering Pyrosal® to:
Patients with intolerance of some sugars should consult a physician before application of the drug.
1 table spoon (15 ml) of the syrup contains about 12.7 g of saccharose, which should be taken into consideration in case of diabetic patients.
If, after 3 days of application,  cold symptoms intensify or there is no improvement, consult a physician. The syrup contains up to 65 mg of ethanol in 1 tea spoon.

Application of the syrup of Pyrosal® in children
It is recommended to consult a physician before administration of the drug to children.

Pregnancy
Consult a physician before application of any drug. Do not apply the drug during pregnancy.

Breast feeding
Consult a physician before application of any drug. Do not apply the drug during breast feeding.

Driving of vehicles and operation of moving mechanisms
The drug in the recommended doses has no influence on the ability to drive vehicles and operate moving mechanisms.

Use of other drugs
So far, no interactions have been reported during application of Pyrosal® with other drugs.

It is necessary to inform a physician about all the recently taken drugs, even those sold without prescription.

Possible undesired effects

So far, no cases of undesired effects during application of the syrup of  Pyrosal® have been reported.
Allergic reactions may occur in individuals sensitive to the preparation components. Nausea may occur in the individuals badly tolerating high doses of saccharose.
In case of other undesired effects, not mentioned here, it is necessary to inform a physician or a pharmacist.

Storage of Pyrosal®

Store at the temperature not exceeding 25°C.
Store out of reach and sight of  children.

Do not use the drug after expiry date stated on the package.

Composition

100 g of syrup contain:

Active substance:
Fluid extract (1:1) from: coltsfoot leaf (Farfarae folio), elder flower (Sambuci flore), linden inflorescence (Tiliae inflorescentia) and willow bark (Salicis cortice) (25/30/30/15)- 10.0 g
[Extractant ethanol 60% (v/v)]

Auxiliary substances:
Currant concentrate, currant juice aroma condensate, saccharose, purified water.

The syrup contains up to 1% (m/m) of ethanol.

Packaging contains 125 g of syrup.
